This weekend I went to the Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo New York with my fraternity brothers Kim & Meg, Meg's sister Betsy, my sister Jenny, and my mother.

To add to the trip, Kim, Meg & I decided to make our own costumes (my mother and sister already had theirs). We started at 6pm the night before, and didn't get to bed until 3 in the morning. Getting up 3 hours later to leave was tough and it was a hot sunny day, so our costumes added to the heat and exhaustion, but we were very glad we decided to dress up. 6 women in full costume wandering around the faire without the presence of a male escort draws alot of attention indeed...

Apologies for the quality of the photos, I don't know what the issue is, and right now I'm too lazy to redo them all.

Don't we look cute in our homemade flower crowns?

And our costumes are wonderful too! (as far as homemade costumes go...)

One of King Nottingham's Sheriff's men decided that a group of all-females needed a male escort, and that we were to all become his wives.

My sister was to be wedded to one of Robin Hood's band of thieves...

Our group posing around the Maypole. Throughout the day we were asked by many strangers to pose for photos.. a bit sketchy huh?

Ok, so Meg & I wanted to pose for a photo in the stockade.. when this man suddenly showed up, announced he would first "spread his seed" (it was real seed, some got in my hair!!) then proceeded to spank each of us with his long stick.

The Mudshow was a highlight of the day. Three grown men making sexual jokes and jumping around in mud, how can you beat it?

My mother

The Turtle Races were great! In the first photo, the guy is dressed up as "Turtle Man", the second, a "Turtle Cheerleader". He was right when he told us "This is a stupid show, a waste of time, but you will enjoy yourself."

We met Leonardo DiVinci.

I think this photo speaks for itself.. doesn't Meg make a cute goat?
